Food and Drink Advent Calendars 2026
Every year, the same thing happens. You tell yourself you'll order an advent calendar in plenty of time. Then it's the second week of November, the good ones are sold out, and you're left choosing between a £3 supermarket calendar with chocolate that tastes like brown wax, or paying £15 for express delivery on something you should have bought a month ago.
This is your month-ago moment. FODA Warehouse has four advent calendars for 2026 — two are available to pre-order now and two are already in stock but in limited quantities. Each one is packed with food or drink from independent producers, and none of them contain a single square of generic compound chocolate.
Here's what's behind the doors.

1. 24 Days of Beer and Snacks Advent Calendar — £95.00
This is the one for someone who'd rather open a beer than a tiny flap of foil. Twenty-four doors, each hiding a different craft beer or artisan snack from independent producers across the UK. It's a month-long tasting tour of the kind of breweries and snack makers you wouldn't find in a supermarket — the sort of thing that makes December evenings genuinely interesting.
If you know someone who drinks the same lager every week and you'd like to gently expand their horizons, this is the gift that does it for you. Or buy it for yourself — nobody's judging.
Pre-order the 24 Days of Beer and Snacks Advent Calendar — available for pre-order now. Delivery from 16th November 2026.
2. 24 Day Gourmet Foodie Advent Calendar — £90.00
For the person who gets excited about a good condiment. Twenty-four doors, each containing a different artisan food product — sauces, snacks, preserves, confectionery, and pantry treats from independent producers. It's a curated introduction to brands and flavours you probably haven't tried yet, and every item is the kind of thing that earns a permanent spot in the kitchen cupboard.
This one works well as a gift for someone who's difficult to buy for, because it does the discovering for them. Twenty-four things they wouldn't have picked up themselves, from producers they wouldn't have found on their own.
Pre-order the 24 Day Gourmet Foodie Advent Calendar — available for pre-order now. Delivery from 16th November 2026.
Why are food and drink advent calendars so popular?
A few years ago, an advent calendar meant chocolate. Now it means whatever you're into — beer, coffee, hot sauce, cheese, popcorn, gin. The shift happened because people got bored of the same waxy chocolate squares and realised that a calendar full of things they actually want to eat makes December noticeably better.
The independent food and drink versions have an edge over the big-brand ones because every door is a genuine discovery. You're not opening a miniature version of something you already know — you're being introduced to a producer or a flavour you haven't encountered before. That's what makes them worth the price: they're not just a countdown, they're a month of trying new things.
3. Holdsworth Chocolates Advent Calendar — £24.00
If you want a traditional chocolate advent calendar but without the traditional disappointment, Holdsworth is where to look. They've been making handmade chocolates in the Peak District since 1910 — over a century of knowing what they're doing. Every piece in this calendar is individually crafted, not stamped out of a mould on a factory line.
This is the one for chocolate lovers who actually care about what chocolate tastes like. Real cocoa butter, proper fillings, made by hand in small batches. It's a long way from the £2 alternative, and you can taste the difference from the first door.

When should you order an advent calendar?
Now. That's not a sales tactic — it's a practical reality. Independent food and drink advent calendars are produced in limited quantities because the producers are small. When they're gone, they're gone, and there's no warehouse of 10,000 extras to fall back on.
The two pre-order calendars (Beer & Snacks, Gourmet Foodie) ship from 16th November, so ordering now means they'll arrive well before December. The Holdsworth and Popcorn Shed calendars are already in stock but showing low availability — waiting until November is genuinely risky with these.
Ordering in October might feel early. Opening a supermarket calendar on December 14th because the good ones sold out feels worse.
4. Popcorn Shed Gourmet Popcorn Advent Calendar — £27.00
The wildcard. Popcorn Shed makes gourmet popcorn in flavours that go well beyond salted and sweet — think white truffle, birthday cake, cherry bakewell, and more. The advent calendar gives you a different mini bag every day through December, and it's the kind of gift that appeals to people who'd rather snack than eat chocolate.
It's also a good option if you're buying for someone with dietary needs.

Beyond the calendar: festive stocking fillers
If you're already thinking about Christmas, the advent calendar is only the start. A few things worth browsing while you're here.
🍫 Stocking fillers — Artisan confectionery and small-batch chocolate make brilliant stocking fillers that look considered without costing a fortune.
🥨 Snack bundles — Cases of artisan crisps and savoury snacks from independent producers work perfectly as a group gift for an office or a household that snacks.
🍺 Drinks for Christmas — Stock up on independent craft beer and cider or artisan soft drinks for the festive season.
